Overview

Overview

Our containerized DPE systems apply high vacuum to extract both soil vapor and groundwater from the same well network. This combined approach accelerates remediation timelines by addressing contamination in both the vadose zone and saturated zone simultaneously.

System Features

Simultaneous Extraction

High-vacuum system pulls both vapor and liquid from the same wellfield, eliminating the need for separate SVE and pump-and-treat systems.

Phase Separation

Integrated liquid/vapor separator vessel with automated level control directs vapor to air treatment and liquid to water treatment trains.

Water Treatment Train

Oil-water separator, bag filtration, and GAC vessels sized for your discharge requirements and contaminant loading.

LNAPL Recovery

Designed to recover free-phase product (LNAPL) from the water table with dedicated product storage and totalizing.

Automated Controls

PLC with HMI manages extraction rates, level control, treatment sequencing, and safety interlocks — with remote monitoring capability.

Flexible Configuration

Systems can operate in DPE mode, SVE-only mode, or groundwater extraction-only mode depending on site conditions and remediation phase.

Applications

  • Sites with LNAPL (free product) on the water table
  • Mixed contamination (vapor + dissolved phase)
  • Low-permeability soils requiring enhanced extraction
  • Former petroleum storage and distribution facilities
  • Industrial sites with chlorinated solvent plumes
  • Sites requiring dewatering and vapor extraction

Contaminants Treated

  • BTEX
  • Petroleum hydrocarbons
  • LNAPL / free product
  • Chlorinated solvents (PCE, TCE)
  • MTBE and fuel oxygenates
  • Dissolved-phase VOCs

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the advantage of DPE over separate SVE and pump-and-treat?

DPE uses a single wellfield and system to address both phases of contamination, reducing capital cost, site footprint, and O&M complexity.

Can the DPE system handle LNAPL recovery?

Yes. Our DPE systems include LNAPL recovery capability with dedicated product storage, totalizing, and automated skimming.

What discharge options are available for treated water?

Systems can be configured for direct discharge (NPDES), sanitary sewer, re-injection, or off-site disposal depending on permit requirements.

Is rental available?

Yes. DPE rental units are available for pilot testing or short-duration remediation projects.
